The SG Lourens Campus is situated at Prinshof Pretoria, adjacent to the Tshwane Rehab Hospital, Tshwane District Hospital and Steve Biko Academic Hospital. SG Lourens Campus was opened on 18 June 1949 as Pretoria Nursing College. In 1984 it was named after the then Principal, Ms SG Lourens and was amalgamated with Lebone Nursing College in 2001. The then SG Lourens Nursing College was affiliated with the University of Pretoria for moderation and quality assurance purposes, striving towards excellence in Nursing Education. In 2019, with the establishment of a single provincial nursing college, the SG Lourens Nursing College became a campus of the Gauteng College of Nursing. |
